Since wet knots are more difficult to untie and crops gain strength during the rain….we think it is safe to say that our next wonderful couple have just begun a beautifully strong and blessed marriage! Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Sam & Natalie McMullin. Their wedding happened in a very special and gorgeous location on their family’s property. It was a perfect clearing under a canopy of beautiful trees next to a calming creek. This creek holds a million memories for them. They, along with their friends and family, have visited it often over the summer weekends.
Most of the guests arrived by hayride. The bride, her father and wedding party were the last to arrive on that same hay filled trailer. Filing in accordingly, each couple tiptoed down the aisle as the bride and her father awaited their time to emerge from the trees for their aisle -walk. At this moment, a simple sweet trickle of rain began to fall. With all of the heat and complete lack of rain during the last months it was a blessing to feel the cool light rain on their shoulders.
The ceremony continued and so did the rain. Not one person moved. Everyone stayed until the rings were placed, the vows were given and the kiss was celebrated. And the rain celebrated too. Everyone was drenched but all were happy! Us three girls were ducked away in a bush or under the handmade wedding sign held over us by a wedding guest so that we could keep shooting no matter how wet we were. It was fabulous!! After a brief intermission to dry off the wedding party, it was evident that this bride, groom and their wedding party were not letting anything stand in the way of celebration with their friends and family!! The night went on just as planned. We were treated as family and we loved every minute and everyone there. It was a blessing to have witnessed such love and a wonderful attitude.
So let it be a sign that Sam & Natalie will not let any form of rain on their life take down their tenacity and love for each other. It was an amazing day and we were simply blessed to be a part of it all!
